Department of Otolaryngology – Head & Neck Surgery
Dr. Scheid is a Board certified Otolaryngologist and Sleep medicine specialist who offer offers care of a wide range of sleep, ear, nose, and throat condition conditions, including nasal obstruction, sinusitis, snoring, sleep apnea, circadian rhythm, disorders, insomnia, allergy, ear infections, hearing loss, dizziness, voice, and swallowing problems.
As my career has evolved and my expertise has broadened, I now see the importance of taking a holistic approach to each patient. I’m excited to move from corporate medicine where I can now spend more time with patients Search searching for the root cause of disease rather than just treating symptoms. I hope to incorporate lifestyle, nutrition, and other interventions to support optimal health, sleep, and longevity.
Dr. Scheid completed her undergraduate degree at Dartmouth College before attending Rush Medical School, where she was elected into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. She completed her residency in otolaryngology at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia, PA, where she gained extensive experience in all areas of head and neck surgery. Upon completion of her residency training, Dr. Scheid accepted a fellowship in pediatric ENT at St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children, where she expanded on her knowledge of pediatric disorders of the head and neck. During her tenure at St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children, Dr. Scheid was also appointed to the faculty of Drexel Medical College. After competing her fellowship in pediatric otolaryngology, Dr. Scheid practiced ENT in Albany, NY, where she was the founder and managing partner of a private ENT practice and a Clinical Assistant Professor at Albany Medical College.
While practicing otolaryngology, Dr. Scheid pursued additional training and certification and Sleep medicine in 2012. Dr. Scheid realized that there was need for pediatric sleep specialists, so she pursued additional training and certification in sleep medicine. Dr. Scheid was one of the leading experts in pediatric sleep medicine in Upstate NY.
She is a Diplomate of the American Board of Otolaryngology, a Diplomate of the American Board of Sleep Medicine, and a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics.
Dr. Scheid is a married, proud mother of two children and three dogs. In her free time she enjoys hiking, skiing, reading, and spending time with her family.
